MEET JUDGE RODNEY HARRIS

A JUDGE FOR THE PEOPLE

Judge Rodney Harris is a Duluth, Gwinnett County native and a highly experienced judge. He has spent years serving the people of Gwinnett County and is committed to ensuring that our court system is fair and just for everyone.
     

Judge Rodney Harris presently sits on the bench as a Juvenile Court Judge. Prior to this current appointment he served on the Recorder’s Court bench from 2011-2019.

 

He is a graduate of Duluth High School. After graduation he attended Presbyterian College in South Carolina on both an academic and athletic scholarships. He received his law degree from the Georgia State University College of Law.

 

Before his appointment to serve as a Judge, Judge Harris was a well-respected criminal defense attorney and most known for his hard work in Juvenile Court for over 15 years. Judge Harris shows great commitment to community service geared toward assisting the citizens of Gwinnett County. He is a co-founder of the STRAP Youth Mentoring Program, he serves as a mentor to countless young people in the community, giving his time as a volunteer youth football coach, attends and speaks frequently to a variety of youth programs. He has served on the Advisory Board for Central Gwinnett High School and United Way Gwinnett & United Ebony Society Boards. Additionally, he is the recipient of numerous community service awards--including the Martin Luther King, Jr., Community Service Award and the Chief Justice Robert Benham Community Service Award.
